BUSHEL + pECK mARKET
Graphic Design senior Project
09/2024 - 11/2024
“Bushel + Peck Market sparked after observing a lack of connectivity between suburban and rural communities, specifically in southeast Michigan. Suburban public spaces are overrun by retail chains and restaurants, while rural areas lack public gathering spaces due to a domination by privately owned farms, homesteads, and property. This shortage of year-round, accessible third spaces has created a disconnect between those within these communities.
Through the development of a brand, packaging, UX/UI, print, and social media, Bushel + Peck Market was born. It differs from other local grocery stores by partnering directly with local farms and small businesses- a business model inspired by farmers’ markets and roadside farm stands. Through these partnerships, the market brings together produce and goods from around the community, increasing accessibility for members of both communities. The market also functions secondarily as a third space by hosting various events, fundraisers, and more throughout the week, bringing members together and enhancing opportunities for connectivity.”

Over the course of 12 weeks, I brainstormed, designed, constructed, and photographed Bushel + Peck. I used my combined knowledge and experience of everything I learned throughout my studio art education, including making jar labels and sticker sheets, screenprinting tote bags and apple pecks, printing and mounting posters, and designing and prototyping the website.
